Jon Schlueter, RFC, CLTC
Jon was literally born into the business of insurance and financial planning. Yet that’s not the core of his story. At just 19 years old, he was already passionate about the high value of Financial Education, Life, Disability and Group Health Insurance. He joined the family business after attending some college, focusing on worksite financial education, and life and health insurance that protects people from the financial blow of disabilities. But it wasn’t until 2011 that his world changed completely.
A proven professional who loved his work and his clients, Jon was struck by Bell’s Palsy in his late 30s. Then, just four months later, he suffered a stroke in his spleen. Physically and emotionally floored, he was forced to take an 11-month leave of absence. That’s when Gary Schwartz re-entered his life. “Gary was already a mentor to me, but when I got sick, he literally pulled me up off the ground and helped me recover, revive, and reengage in my work. He changed my path and my life 1000%.”
Jon’s illness, and his guidance from Gary, drove his passion for financial planning to an even deeper level. “My stroke showed me first hand how frightening it is to potentially lose your livelihood and your ability to care for your family and yourself. I made it my mission to help my clients prepare for whatever comes down the road.”
On Gary’s urging, Jon joined the team at Madison Planning in 2012, and he’s never been happier. “Helping my clients and knowing we’re doing whatever we have to do to get them on solid financial footing and protect them, their family, and their wealth no matter what comes their way—that’s what drives me, day and night.”
Jon continually strives to grow his knowledge and understanding of how to best serve his clients. A Registered Financial Consultant (RFC) and CLTC (Certified in Long-Term Care Insurance), he holds securities and insurance licenses in multiple states and is a qualifying member of Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) and The Financial Services Institute (FSI). His experience helping clients spans more than 25 years.
Outside the office, he feels lucky to be married to his best friend and most important partner, Gina. “We share the most rewarding life we could have ever asked for. Our two boys remind us that the most important thing in life has always been family. There is nothing we cherish more than watching them grow and showing them the world on family trips. As long as we are together, we have it all.”
